AEROPAN (ELACHI)

Composition: Magaldrate 480mg + Simethicone 20mg + Domperidone 10mg (syrup, Cardamom Flavour). In this combination, Magaldrate (antacid), Simethicone (antiflatulent) and Domperidone (prokinetic and antiemetic) are paired so that their mechanisms work alongside one another.

Magaldrate is an aluminium-magnesium antacid that neutralises gastric acid. Simethicone is an antifoaming agent that helps relieve gas and bloating. Domperidone is a peripheral dopamine D2 antagonist with prokinetic and antiemetic activity.

Safety

·       Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any component.

·       Aluminium/magnesium antacids may affect absorption of other drugs; caution in renal impairment.

·       Domperidone is associated with QT prolongation and serious ventricular arrhythmias; regulators recommend the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration and avoidance in cardiac disease, hepatic impairment and with CYP3A4 inhibitors.
